Local store had a used 1.0 Compact for $249. Price seemed ok and it came with original box, one flush mag and one with the pinky extension.

Dry fired it and was pleasantly surprised. The 1.0 trigger felt identical to my M&P9 2.0 trigger. I'm guessing that this was a late production run and has the updated trigger??

My 1.0 9c has always had a good trigger on it.
It was built in 2013. I've never understood all the whining about triggers on M&Ps. Maybe I was lucky, but all 4 of my M&Ps have similar trigger pulls; the newest being a 2.0 9mm compact that I got a year and a half ago. Probably the "worst" of them is my 45c, but I still have no problem with it putting bullets where they should go. $249 is less than half what I paid for mine. A great value for the money, if you decide to get it.

The trigger on this 9C 1.0 was definitely just as good as my 2.0. But I didn't think to check the reset. How is the reset on these 1.0 models that have a good trigger? Audible and tactile like the 2.0 triggers?

The 1.0 9C is a clunkier gun than the Glock 19 with three less rounds. I find myself looking at it and asking why?

The M&P9C 1.0 slots in between the G19 and G26. The grips is slimmer to me and it doesn't have the Glock hump. The M&P9C is my favorite gun to shoot and carry.

Magpul and Glock both make a 12 round magazine for a Glock 26 so again I'm looking at a clunkier, less concealable gun with equal or less rounds.

Without testing the guns side by side, it's difficult to tell if they're the same.

One thing is sure, they don't have the same internal parts. The 2.0 trigger mechanism is different and won't fit in the 1.0 frame. So, it doesn't matter if the gun is a late production, the trigger is the original design.

Makes sense. I had just finished firing my M&P9 m2.0 and a rental Shield 40 2.0 and walked from the range into the store. Looked at the 1.0 less than 5 minutes after firing the 2.0's so that's a pretty good comparison. Though, not side by side. I couldn't tell a difference in the triggers. Was quite surprised.

My -9c 1.0 had a nice stock trigger as well. However, i really don't care for the M&P hinged trigger design so I swapped it for a polymer APEX trigger shoe (no internal changes). I was skeptical that it would make it any better than stock, but now it has a great trigger.

nanney,

I've have both the M&P9 1.0 and 2.0. Both stock versions. The
2.0 has a much better trigger (stock) than the 1.0. You experienced other than the normal. If you really want to see a
difference, try the SD9VE first, and then fire a 2.0. You'll think the 2.0 is a match grade competition trigger in comparison.
Perception is everything.

Many people completely miss the value of the 9c (1.0)! It's true value lies in it's capacity vs. size! The shorter grip makes it easier to conceal, and it still carries 13 rounds. a HIGH CAPACITY, SMALL, CARRY GUN, with a big enough bullet to be worthwhile. Even with the smaller grip, it still fits well in my hand, and is easier to carry. Small like a Shield, and big like a higher capacity gun.

The 9c is really a nice tradeoff, between singe stacks, and full sized.

If you really want more capacity in that gun, simply slap in a stock 15 or 17 round mag! And Smith sells mag adapters cheap, to increase the size of the stock grip.

And the trigger just ain't that bad!

It really is a very nice sidearm.

That's a great price on a 9c. [emoji106]
As long as it looks okay I don't think you'd have any regrets.
I have several thousand rounds (quit counting around 2300) thru mine with not a single malfunction. I ran it for a couple of seasons of local USPSA matches and practiced quite a bit as well.
I have several shooter friends who have shot it and complimented the trigger. Now mine may be a bit polished but it has always had a nice trigger.
I did replace the floor plate on the magazine that came with the flat bottom plate to one with the finger groove.
Other than that, minus some custom holster wear, it is as it came from factory.

The M&P9C is the Lucky Gunners favorite gun.

Like JJ said, the triggers smooth out with use. Could be yours has a decent round count.

What's the date code on the box? If it's 6 numbers, then that is the date. If it's 4 number, then we'll need to "convert it" since it's a Julian date.

Of course, this assumes you have the stock trigger and not an APEX.

I MUCH prefer my 1.0 9c to my wife's G19. It is smaller than the G19 in height and length. The grip doesn't feel like someone spent 3 minutes sanding on a 1x2 piece of wood and then stuck it on the frame at the wrong angle. I have mags in 12, 14, 15, and 17 rnd sizes. Oh, and the CTC laser grip is worlds better than the laser for the G19. She was ready to get rid of the G19 a month or so ago because neither of us likes it. A range trip where we shot 4 pistols and the G19 was obviously the bottom finisher. But we can shoot it OK so she keeps it. OP, run back and buy that 1.0 9c.

I disagree. I think the Smith is more streamlined and slightly better feeling in the hand.

Also going with the 12 round mag in the 26 brings it up to the height of the Smith. I always thought the 26/27 were too small for good shooting.

Okay. I'd say that these are subjective opinions on both sides. I have used the 9C and the Glock 26 each for home carry and I find the 26 to be easier and less of a hassle to carry at home. I also find that when I train and practice with the 26 I don't have any problem shooting it.

My wifes m&p9c has the same gritty trigger pull is most other 1.0 pistols But it was lighter , I finally swap in a apex trigger and a striker block kit with some rather minor polishing and it has a 4lb 11 ounce trigger . I like the m&p line far more than glock and my wife simply hates glock , but I just only started to carry a m&p 4.25 recently some . MY wife still prefers her Kimber ultra but rotates with her older m&p 9c some .
