M&P9 series or a glock

M&P

M&P without a doubt. Put both in your hands and close your eyes. The M&P feels more like a "real gun" The Glock feels like a piece of plastic. Not going to Knock Glocks reliability, but the M&P is just as reliable, shoots good and feels good. I have a list of 13 guns I'd like to add to my collection, and a Glock is not even on that list. Just my opinion.

With my shiney new CHP in-hand, I went to the gun store planning to buy a Glock 19. But when the sales guy saw that I'm left handed, he suggested the M&P9C. I didn't know anything about it but it did fit my hand better, holding them side-by-side. And I loved the option to swap the mag release to the right side.

After shooting their 9C rental, I bought the 9C and have been very happy with it during its 12-month life. This is the second, and only pistol I presently own so I certainly do not claim to know much about it.

Also, the NC State Highway Patrol and the Raleigh PD have announced they are going to the M&P. That didn't affect my decision but it does say they tested it and were satisfied. A friend is a Major in the NCSHP and he is happy with his.

The M&P I own has more "character". The Glock is just plain ugly. Both are excellent choices though. Can't go wrong with either.

Well, I didn't put myself through the drill of reading every post in this thread, but I'm sure you've already been advised to go to a range and rent both to see which one you like the feel of best.

I have both and like both for certain things. I'm a better shot with the GLOCK, but it drives me crazy to have to pull the trigger to take it apart. The M&P probably feels a little better in my hand, and I like the different sized backstraps.

You won't go wront with either one, good luck with your decision, and happy shopping! ;)

Have both a glock 22 and MP40. IMHO, the MP beats the glock hands down. Now to be fair, the glock has a good rep for realiability, but I shoot MUCH better with the MP......
