I am new to the forum, so please be patient with me :). I just bought an M&P9C and find that the magazine without the pinkie extension will not accept the 12th round. It's not just difficult to insert, it is literally impossible. I took the mag. apart and all appears OK. Is this normal. Is it really an 11 round magazine?

Naw, you're a wuss....:D

Seriously, some of these new mags new more breaking in than a '49 Nash. They get easier with use, determination, and a loader. Try cleaning it while apart with CRC silicone ,wiping dry, and reassembling. :)

Let it set loaded with 11 in it for a week or so. Then unload it and go again. They are really hard to break in, but they will eventually. Bob!

Yeah I ave the same problem. I just bought a LNIB (100 rnds) 9c with 2 10rnd mags and 2 12rnd mags. Even using a LULA all I could load was 9 in the 10s and 11 in the 12s.

What I found after much debate and correspondence with S&W, the 10-round mags will hold 10 rounds, but not using the Maglulu device; the 10th round has to be loaded by hand and is very difficult. I would suppose the 12-round mag is probably the same situation on the 12th round.

I had the same problem with all six of my M&P9c 12 round magazines, so I took them apart and removed about an eighth inch of plastic off the bottom of the skirts of the followers, front and back and they work great now. Make sure you break the edges to prevent them hanging up in the magazine.
