As many may know I traded a Beretta last week because it shot low and left for an M&P9c. At the time I purchased the MP, I shot a few rounds through it to make sure I liked it. But today was a full day. Ran several hundred rounds through the new pistol and absolutely love it. After a sight adjustment to compensate for being a right handed shooter that is left eye dominant I think this is a better weapon than my SR40. Wow!!

Sorry...just had to post it.

What exactly did you adjust on the sight. I also shoot right handed and am left eye dominant. New shooter, and am looking for ways to improve.

Moved the rear sight to the right to compensate.

My Bullseye coach says to bend the wrist to get proper sight alignment, don't tilt or turn your head. He also pointed out that special grips are made for cross-dominant shooters, with a seven degree angle built into them.

I too have cross dominance but it it seems intuitive that if both the rear and front sights are aligned with the target, it shouldn't matter which eye one uses.

I can force myself to use the non dominant eye, but notice no difference.
Am I missing something here? (other than the target). The physics involved neither know nor care which eye the shooter uses.

What I found was that before I had my sights adjusted, I was shooting left. Just by moving the sight, it was dead on. Not sure about the physics, don't care about the physics. LOL! All I know is that it worked.

I am also cross eye dom., I just move the gun over a bit and shoot with my left eye. Never moved the sights. Doesn't work on longguns though. LOL

I'll try that next time...thanks! I know I have been tilting my head.
