After years of buying, selling, shooting, and carrying first, second, and third gen S&W autos, I finally broke dowm today and bought a new M&P9c...I have been looking at them for months and even tried one out at the range, and due to carrying a Glock 17 every day and being a true blue Smith fanatic I can't believe I waited so long.....what a sweet pistol, it makes me proud (again) to be a Smith nut.....and just so you guys know, I blame it all on the S&W forum for making me ever even look at these fine pistols.....it's gonna be my new back up and off duty carry from now on, save for the occasional break out of my trusty 649, which has served well for almost twenty years. Now i'm gonna sell my baby Glock, which I rarely carried anyway (love my 38 special 649) and always carry a Smith.....and I guess i'm gonna buy another M&P, break it in, and keep it ready to go because I think i'm gonna do my best to wear out the one I bought today......stay safe.....

Excellent choice. Enjoy it and wear it out! I love mine even more than my full size (which was my first M&P). I have several thousand rounds through mine without one single issue I assume you will too soon enough

Be safe!

sweet piece

SWEET GRIF! That's what i want for my birthday come august :D!

I just celebrated out 20th anniversary and she got me a two tone mp40 full size and i am in love! with her too!!!:o

i can't wait to put a 9mm in my repertoire though to go with my 45 & 40! Just don't know if it's gonna be a compact or the fs. IDPA ya know.

That would be a great present Nick, compacts are just more practical for me, but I do own and shoot quite a few full size autos, ironically, when I went to buy the M&P today, they had a nice 3914 with two mags from a trade with only slight carry wear and mechanically perfect, so I had to make a deal for that too. When I got home the woman grabbed the 3914 immediately and said "I love this, is it for me?". Guess i'll have to look for another one of those too.....

39, 39-2 x3, 639 x2, 469 x2, 6690, 5906, 5943, M&P9c, 3914 for a minute...

Congrats on your purchase!! I recently traded my Glock 19 for a 9c, and absolutely love it. We carried Sig P226's and I usually had a G-26 for an off-duty weapon. Bought a 19 for my retirement present to myself, and had a Glock of some sort for over 15 years. My wife got a 9c, and I decided I had to have one also. My bad for waiting too many years. Also love my M&P340!! Enjoy your 9C...

Thanks 310, not knocking Glocks at all, I own eight of them in various configurations, and I rely on one everyday, but the way the 9c feels and naturally points makes it a winner already. If it comes close to the reliability of Glock in my experience, then I will be owning many.......Wish my dept gave us a choice of duty pistols, I believe I would have to go American.......

Congrats on the new purchase! I myself just bought the 9c w/ the crimson trace laser and I couldn't be more happier.

Mines been a real sweetheart.Much better feel in the hand than my Glocks. Very comfortable in an IWB holster. Put the APEX defense/carry trigger in it. About the best polymer gun trigger I'veever felt (although my PPQ was great from the box). Enjoy!

Congrats on the new piece! NOTHING is as sweet as bringing home a new addition! I never thought I'd find a 9mm I'd genuinely like to shoot. I'm a huge fan of Glock but the way my hands hold the gun, the standard frame size Glocks would chew the webbing of my hands to shreds; I can shoot my big Glock 21 all day long (and have for years) without a single issue but I could never regularly shoot my G26, 19 or 17 without getting bloody. After watching some Magpul videos I saw the M&P with the beaver tail and gave it a shot...now 4 M&P autos later I'm working on my 5th! The M&P9c is my latest and I am in love! I picked up one of the X-Grip slip on sleeves that let you use the full-size 9mm mags and you talk about nice! I'd easily take my 9c to an IDPA match if I didn't like shooting my M&P45 so much.

I'm thinking the 19 ounce Shields are going to be sliding into many an
ankle holster out there.

Seems to sound much thinner and lighter than the Glocks.

Much faster reload than a J frame for sure!

The M&P9c has become one of the most popular pistols in the M&P series. I've let several people try mine over the years and just about all ended up buying one. As you now know the 9c feels great in hand and is a natural pointer. With it's 12 round capacity I feel comfortable carrying it without an extra magazine. Everyone now is raving about the new Shield, myself included, but if it came down to only choosing one pistol between the two it would be the 9c for me.

The Shield is nice. But, I also love the compact. It is very easy to conceal in a Remora holster.

My wife thinks the compact it is too heavy and thick. So, she wants the Shield. I am getting ready to drive to the LGS to get on the list.

I am also going to check out the M&P 22. If I get the time, I want to shoot my compact this weekend.

Went and put five boxes of ammo through it today, i'm hooked!!! Functioned perfect and is every bit as accurate as my G19, but WAY more comfortable! Put 115, 124, and some 147 through it without a hitch, can't wait for the next couple thousand rounds, what a great pistol.......All I can say is if you're thinking about getting an M&P, do it!!
