Making my own bullets is not an option for me at this time. It would require yet another license!

The other day a few of us tested about 5 pistols, ranging from $300 - $5000. Shooting magtech 124g with all (only 9mm we can get at the range).

At 10m we did 5 shots into a standard target. ALL the guns got atleast 1 round in the bull EXCEPT my M&P core.

I offered to swap my M&P Core with the owner who had the $300 gun, he said no thanks!

Does anyone know if a different barrel will help? Preferable one that is available in Europe?

Have you or others tried shooting your pistol from a solid rest . Not shooting at what ever a standard target is but at a 1" dot . I hate shooting at bullseye type targets . I can shoot one round on cardboard then aim at the bullet hole for the remainder of rounds at 10 to 12 yards. Use a sandbags or adjustable rifle rest to check real accuracy of you and the pistol and let let a couple skilled friend give that a try before assuming its the handgun or ammo issue . Something other than banging away to see how brand x ammo shoots.

The 4.25" core I have is not a target pistol to me but as for speed shooting events and a defensive handgun and if I can't place 15 rounds fired as quickly as the optic settles on the target at 10 to 12 yards and I don't place those 15 rounds inside a 1 1/2" to 2" circle I have messed up and that is using plinker reloads, 124gr bayou bullets and 4.3gr of hp-38.

These pistol are not bulls eye handguns but with out different bullet weights to try and reloading your own ammo you are some what limited to dumb luck and shooting skill.

I read that owning more than 1 pistol is a problem in spain?? Is that true. If not I would look at a Witness line of pistols for match needs too.

I used a Witness single action pistol for speed shoots for a few years till I could no longer run around. Easy to change top side to different cartridges and accuracy was top notch along with a great trigger and they make different models to fit all the class's from production to full race guns out of the box.

Update

Kept trying all sorts. Bench, different ammo, different shooters. A friend with a $200 handgun was grouping better than me from a bench.

I called S&W and they told me it will have to be returned to their European Service Centre. It took about a month for the paperwork to come through. It arrived their last week, and they have emailed to say it's been sent for testing and they will be in touch in 2-4 weeks.

Now gunless and feeling sorry for myself, I decided to cheer myself up with the purchase of a CZ SP-01 Shadow. It arrived yesterday.

The difference is night and day, I'm enjoying shooting again. It's everything I wished the M&P Pro CORE would of been. Amazing groups, amazing accuracy, amazing trigger.

Well, I'm shocked as to what has happened. Grab a drink, put your feet up and have a read of this...

My CORE has been with S&W Spanish Agent in Madrid, it was given over to their technical department for testing.

On Friday I got an email from them saying they are going to send me a new gun, however they don't have any in stock. In 2-3 weeks they will have a delivery from Belgium, and send me a new gun.

Great! Brilliant customer server!

Too good to be true huh? YEP!

Got an email TODAY telling me the fault is due to over pressure, and it's not covered by warranty.

WHAT?!

Now, from day 1 I've always maintained this gun wouldn't group properly. I'm not allowed to take the gun out of my gun club, and for months I was trying it with commercial ammo. I've never has a misfire, stove pipe, nothing. The day I sent the gun back I gave it a complete cleaning and looked down the barrel and it was perfect.

The home made rounds that were fired are from a person who actually teaches the course for how to make your own ammunition, has been loading for 40 years! You have to take a week course with him in order to get your license to make bullets!

EVEN if it was these rounds that caused an issue (which it wasn't) then how comes the gun never grouped from day 1 using SAPPI approved ammo.

I was still trying commercial ammo up until the day I sent it back, I couldn't get it to group but the bullets were still hitting the target and the gun was operating just fine.

I have asked for the gun to be sent back so I can get it inspected myself. Let's see what they say to that.

Lots of odd things being told to use. Your pistol will be replaced , Overpressure so its not going to be fixed !!

Hummmm, after re-reading a seeing that your shooting group could get at least 1 round in the bullseye but you with your handgun at 10meters . How big is this bullseye ?? 1/2" ?
