Bonjour!

There have been some made with five-inch barrels, but they must be very rare, unless this is something being made especially for the French market. I saw some in photos in a gun magazine some years ago. They may have been special order items.

I think Canadians have to have guns with at least five-inch barrels, but don't know that S&W made any for them. (M-19's, I mean.)

The only fixed sight M-19's I know of were for a Peruvian order, but they had four-inch barrels. (10cm)

Can you get a very good assortment of .357 Magnum ammunition there? Are hollowpoint bullets allowed?

Can civilians use pistols/revolvers anywhere but on shooting ranges, as in small game hunting or for defense carry?

The fixed sight model 19 revolvers were called the 19-P and made for the Peruvian government and for export to Europe. Most were 4-inch, but some were 2.5 inch. All were blue. I have not heard of a 5 inch, but anything is possible.

hello
for the second question ,i miss yesterday ,we are not allowed to cary handguns or revolver
only in shooting range
police or gendarmerie have only fmj ammo ,now they change 357 for a sig before gendarmerie which are military carry a beretta made under licence at manufacture d'armes de saint-etienne
for the guns we are one of the more lucky in europe with belgium ,italy ,spain and germany
idon't know for others news countries.
regards

Thanks. Switzerland also is still relatively liberal about guns. We have a Swiss member here.

If you see that gun again, please let us know whether it has a four or five inch barrel.

Is there any way you can take a picture of that 5" fixed sight M19? I for one would really like to see it, unusual S&W's are a fascination to me, the wierder and unusual the better
