Glock's G19 MOS is a seller for Glock. It allows fast and simple
attaching a reflex sight to that pistol.
The talk is our M2.0 pistols are seriously challenging Glocks
popularity.
So, does Smith & Wesson have plans to bring out a M2.0 MOS?
I as well as several "Old Cop" friends of mine are waiting for
the Glock Gen 5 MOS but I would purchase (Blue Label) a
M2.0 Compact MOS rather than the Glock___if Smith & Wesson offered one.
I know one can buy a pistol with the reflex already on one just as
one can buy a Sig the same way.
Glock's offer of an option is working. I hope Smith & Wesson will
also____soon.
Stay safe out there.

They already make a core series. The Glock MOS sits the reflex SUPER high if trying to cowitness sights. I did alot of comparing before buying the core or pro series. Bought a glock mos sold it bought a walther q5 match sold it. Bought my m&p core loved it. So much so I bought the m&p pro series as well which is also reflex ready. Granted triggers are apex . All of my glocks had aftermarket triggers as well so it was a wash. Don't get me wrong I would love a 2.0 core series . The 5" fde with the loaded chamber indicator can be milled for an optic . I thought about going for it . Instead I grabbed a 2.0 45acp and sent it to primarymachine.com to mount a rmr nice and low . Primary machine only charges 200$ to machine your slide and install your optic. Good deal
Iammo.com 2.0 9mm for $500
Custom slide milling $200
That's 700$ for a 2.0 with an optic custom mounted nice and low with no adapter plates.
On a side note i have done trigger jobs and match barrels on my glocks and my m&p's after years of ransom rest and load testing. I only own 1 glock a custom race cut lone wolf g41. The rest have been replaced by m&p's Once I get my 2.0 45acp back the g41 may be in the classifieds. The 2.0 45 is the most accurate 45acp I've ever tested. Absolutely Amazing accuracy - with a stock barrel

I have a M 2.0 9mm FS with Apex barrel and flat trigger. As expected, 1 inch at 25 yards in five rounds fired. I too picked up a M 2.0 45ACP. I installed the same Apex Flat trigger. Using Freedom Ammuntion 230 grain reloads, I braced myself, firing five rounds at 20 yards. Best three rounds were 3/4 inch, the other two hit two inches from that cluster. I pulled a better group with my M 2.0 45 than my custom 1911. I can’t speak enough on the accuracy of the M 2.0 45 with a stock barrel.

Roughneck6. I was shocked when I put the 2.0 45acp in the ransom rest. Accuracy was astounding.Soft shooting ,nice sights, accurate as hell and 425$ rite now at iammo.com. This gun is a bargain to say the least.

I haven't heard of anything challenging anything. Every time a new gun comes out it's the next Glock killer. M&P 1.0, Sig 320, Walther PPQ, CZ P10C, HK VP9... All have were supposedly the next Glock killer. Hasn't happened yet and probably won't in a long long time. Does this mean you should buy Glock? No! Buy whatever makes you happy and stop the silly "competition".

Every Glock I have ever held feels to me like it was poorly carved out of a 2x4, at the wrong grip angle by an inexperienced 10 year old whittler. In fact I dont recall ever holding a more uncomfortable gun. And that includes all models of Glock. A Glock no doubt is a Great and reliable gun. But I cannot foresee me ever owning one.

I know other people who have the exact opposite view as me. Good thing there are lots of choices for people to choose the gun that best fits them and their needs. Got to love free market competition!

I think a big part of the populatity of Glock is name recognition. Non gun people have heard of glock and go to the LGS and walk it and ask to see a Glock, and their mind is made up. If not familiar with guns, every gun will feel foreign to them so they know of and heard of and feel comfortable spending money on a Glock and that is what walks out the door with them.

It’s all subjective to the individual. Especially ergonomics.

I can’t think of anything the m2.0 does better than a comparable Glock.

Kind of silly to have a superiority complex over a polymer framed pistol. IMO.

Simple marketing: Glock owns the term "semi-auto pistol", just like Apple owns "smartphone", or in the South, any soft drink is a "Coke". It's more important to be #1 in the minds of consumers rather than absolute #1 in performance.

I couldn’t agree any more. I understand why people love/like their Glocks. I also understand how Glocks are in most LEOs’ holsters. My duty issued Gen 4 Glock 21 isn’t a bad pistol, but I really love my off duty M&P 9 2.0. I let my instructor shoot it and he was impressed. Regardless, I can’t see my agency making the move to S&W, unless S&W underbids Glock and throws in new holsters.

What does Glock have over other manufactures . Huge after market for parts . Easy tear down past field stripping . I do not own a Glock but from those 2 pluses seems like a good platform . I have shot Glocks and they seemed reasonably accurate to me . I like my M&P's just wish they had a better after market like Glock .

I have a few new 2.0's and really appreciate them. I also own 2 Glocks and I find myself CCW'ing the Glock most of the time. The reason is when I evaluate the size, weight, capacity, reliability and simplicity of the Glocks, it's a no brainer. My CCW Glock of choice is the Glock 23 Gen 4 with night sights, an Alpha Wolf 357 Sig barrel, 3.5 lb connector and the NY 1 trigger.
The ergo's of the Glocks are not as comfortable and natural as the 2.0's but they serve the purpose as a CCW pistol.
NO! I am not getting rid of my 2.0's and am waiting for someone to offer a 357 Sig barrel for my 2.0 - 40 compact. When that option becomes available, I may consider changing CCW pistols!
Or I could die in my sleep tonight and not worry about it......
Happy New Year!

No company is going to unseat Glock's worldwide position of dominance by imitating them. Only when they bring something new to the table will things change. Glocks are proven around the globe and have established an unmatched track record of simplicity, durability and reliability. Their reputation is well deserved. I'll take an actual Glock 19 over an imitation of it given the choice.

To each his own . If the police and military began shooting hipoint pistols. There are alot of people who would follow blindly. Generally the first responders use whatever their department gets the best deal on. Not what is best. They will all get the job done. Looking at a glock next to almost any pistol it's clear the glock was made cheaper. Lighter weight , plastic sights , not to mention the tiny ridiculous cases they come in. I can also tell you that glocks flex ALOT in the ransom rest more so than m&p's or any I've tested. They are also way more pressure sensitive in the rest . Telling me they are thin and cheap.

Unless its a RC cola. It is not a big thing here in Atlanta, the home of Coke, but when I moved to Arkansas in the 80s I knew a lot of people that insisted on RC.

I like my M&P 2.0 compact better than my Gen 4 Glock 19. The Glock has a trigger with some creep in it and the blocky grip rubs against the first joint of my thumb. But while I prefer the M&P and shoot it a little bit better there is no way the difference is big enough to justify an agency replacing its Glocks with M&Ps. If anyone is hoping the Glocks are going to wear out and other companies will have a chance in the replacement contract good luck with that. They last forever.

Glock had the right gun at the right time. When police were switching to semi-autos from revolvers Glock was pretty much the only polymer frame striker fired pistol on the market. It was Glock or a heavier, more complicated and usually more expensive DA/SA pistol. Now that Glock is used by so many agencies it is hard to find a reason to switch. About the only reason I can see is changing calibers to keep up with whatever the FBI is doing. Even then Glock is the safe choice. Nobody ever got fired for buying Glocks. If I was the one that chose Sig 320s I might be a little worried.

Who cares about the cases? I throw most of them in the trash. I also don't keep the TV box, shoe boxes or any other packaging.

Plastic sights do exist however ALL my police issued Glocks have Trijicons!

Random rest? A what? Why would I shoot of off one of those?

How did you measure the flexing? And what does that have to do with anything?
