So we had a Dirty Harry themed IDPA match this weekend. As I don’t have a M29, decided to use my M24 that’s been languishing in my safe for too long.

Came in second in my division and reminded me how good a gun this is. Fun to shoot, especially when I outshot some with semi-autos on a stage or too.

Was the only one with a 44 spc, no one had 44 mag.

A fun day.

Sounds like fun!

A Dirty Harry themed shoot, and NOBODY brought a 44 mag? I must be missing something....

The 44 Special would be a hoot to shoot against all of the bottom feeders - especially if you win :D

Was disappointed myself, we didn’t have more big bores, but we did have more revolver shooters than normal, which was good to see.

Each stage was a scene from each of the Dirty Harry movies, modified for IDPA rules, bay space, etc. Overall was fun. Stages named: “exuse me Captain, but can you fly”, “ Make my Day”, “ Was if 5 or 6?”, “Smith, Wesson, and me”, “Do you feel lucky?”

BTW werent those huge kooky blue earmuffs marketed by S&W way back in the day ?

I still have a pair bought back in the 80's. Not the same as the ones shown in the video. Color is close but the shape of mine are more oval and it has big S&W logos. Goofy looking.
