Have had this M25-9 for a dozen years or so, have posted pics about it here as well.

This is a very cool package, chambered in a great cartridge, and the 4 inch barrel length makes it a good packing gun for the woods.

But..... as usual, nothing seems perfect unless one gets to "tinker" a bit :)

Here is a bit of a progression, with pics.

Step One, remove the rubber grips that came with it and give it a try:

OK, seems to shoot OK, now play with the grips some (Spegels, of course), wouldn't want to ding up those old Cokes... :)

Better, but something isn't just "right", so back to the factory to get the front sight milled off and a Patridge installed, replace the Target Trigger with a standard width grooved trigger for Double Action shooting.

It's coming together all-right as a shooter, but something still not up to where I wanted, so called Craig Spegel and convinced him to make me a special pair of Cocobolo grips for this, my Perfect, woods companion.

Note: This project was completed a few years back but this is the first time I've had a chance to take any good pics for a long while, so here goes:

Very nice 25, all the way around!!! I bought a 25-15 at April gun show. It has the 6.5" barrel. Changed the factory (Altamont) target grips to an older set of S&W Target Grips. Feel much better to me. Enjoy your 25! Bob

I'd say it was durn well worth the trip.

That's a dandy.

Those Spegels are special indeed. Well done!

Great pics on an outstanding woods gun, and those Spegel's ....WoW, .what more is there to say?! excellent choice.
I also agree. I like the mod of the front sight to partridge too.

PS- Anytime a red ramp front sight gets replaced, its a good thing...

Now that seems like a worthy objective going forward, maybe I'll get a bumper sticker that says "Stamp out Red Ramps.... !!!!

Thanks for all the responses. I love this gun. Have used factory ammo exclusively (Winchester Silvertip - pretty blah, and Cor Bon 335 grn LFP +P - a stout load for sure). When I get the time I'm loading up some hard cast loads for this gun with 300 grn bullets, somewhere in the 900fps range. Will post back my progress.

Regards,
