M28 shim report

I just finished up shimming the trigger and hammer on my m28. The gap was .007" between the trigger/hammer to the frame. I installed.003" shims on both sides of the hammer and trigger pins. Plus lubed with moly. I can't believr the double action feels even smoother. My cylinder gap to barrel throat is in the middle of the specs it's ok. It's a nice old m28/357 mag.

Has anyone lapped the trigger return spring block into the frame? I seen where they file the frame but wouldn't lapping the block to the frame be smoother?

If you are referring to the rebound slide, yes, the rebound slide, on the frame side, can be stoned smooth all you want. No penalty. Then put a slight 45 degree angle at the bottom edge of the rebound slide - again, frame side.
