Thought some might be interested in seeing new Kurac grips on a Model 57. They are French walnut, what he describes as dull finish (just perfect, to my taste).

Fantastic looking Model 57 and Kurac Grips are the best.

A beautiful no-dash 57 with Kurac's. That holster looks first class to protect those grips.

The 41 Mag caliber is my favorite..... Looks like you may "roll your own" ammo too. Do you cast your own bullets?

I do load my own, bullets are 215 gr SWCs, hard cast, from Proofmark in Burgess, Virginia. Too lazy to cast these days, and these shoot very well. I use a stout load of 2400, standard primers, Remington or Starline brass. I love the .41s also, especially in the Smiths. Thanks for the kind words.

An excellent rig you have assembled. The model 57's are great and the Kuracs are just right. Great looking holster too. Congrats!

Model 57

Your revolver is a beauty, and is perfectly matched with those lovely grips (I know Smith & Wesson call them "stocks", but I find that a little dated, don't you?) The .41 has always been my favorite caliber, and the M57 my favorite engine to launch it. I envy your gun, grips, knife, and holster combination - a winner right down the line!

The revolver, the grips, the knife and the holster--top drawer all the way!

Who made the holster?

Thanks Cooter, holster is a Bianchi, #16L, discontinued many years ago. I really like it (also have one for my 4" Model 57), carries very well, good in the hills for protection of the revolver and keeping crud from entering holster.

The .41 is also my favorite revolver cartridge, honest all the way (a real ".41", vice its big sister, the ".429")

Great photographs - thanks for sharing. John does make some beautiful stocks, (can't help it, my age dates me), and they really fit nicely.
Don't get much better than that.
teesur.
