Magazines 4014 Question?

Can anyone help with magazine question on 4014? Does the 9 round magazines in the 4013TSW fit the 4014? My magazine has an eight round capacity. I bought it used, came with only one mag. Whenever I try to order a magazine online, they all state 9 round capacity. I don't want to have to play the return game. Any help would be great.

You want single stack 8 round magazines that were manufactured for the first version of the 4013, not the later 4013TSW that uses a double column magazine. The magazine would probably be advertised as fitting a 4013, as you know, make sure it is for the proper 4013. Just make sure it states 8 round and make sure there is a picture. I have a 4013 which uses the magazine you need as well as a Shorty Forty which uses a 9 round 4013TSW magazine. Hope this helps.

Rule of thumb, the OEM mag with the RED follower is what you need. The Blue follower is the 9 rounder and wont fit.

I managed to snag a 9 rounder cuz the poster posted it as an 8 round. I did contact him, but it was to close to the end of auction to make the change. I picked it up for like 15 bucks.

As said above, you need the earlier non-TSW 4013 8rd mags.

If you want a good deal on some search "Used Original S&W Md4013" on Gunbroker (since we can't post links to the auction). Those are the cheapest I could find them. I bought some from that guy and they were in excellent shape. It's a Dutch auction and he only charges shipping once, so if you want multiple mags it's a great deal. The ones I recieved have the finger extension, not flat-bottom like the picture shown in the auction.

Great information, I appreciate the help. I did call the factory, I was surprised to find out they do not carry or make the 8 round magazines for the 4013/4014, only the 9 round for the TSW models. I did find some on GB; so problem solved. They also did not carry the recoil spring, but found one through Wolf Springs. I will attach pics once I have it bead blasted and re-blued.
