Main (hammer) spring for S&W 34. How often?

Shot my model 34 in a match a couple weeks ago and it did just fine. Took it out yesterday and it had two light strikes out of about 70 rounds. I was using Mini Mags both times.
Seems I just replaced the hammer spring a couple years ago. Do they wear out that fast? Doesn't seem like they used to.

I have never replaced a hammer spring in a J frame. My I frame have the original springs....You probably got a couple of couple of dud cartridges which happens with the currently mfg'd. .22 ammo these days.

Just a complete guess but it could be shooting debris in the chambers, or possibly under the extractor.

Interesting. I'll give it a thorough once-over before anything else. I usually just brush the chambers and wipe it down with an oily rag.

It borders on miraculous how rare .22 rimfire misfires occur. But the fact of the matter is, they are far less reliable than centerfire cartridges in general, and of the billions of rounds loaded it is not out of the ordinary to have one or two misfires once in a while.
