Maintaining wood stock on New No3

Hi board, I am used to maintaining Lee Enfield milsurps where the wood requires the periodic Linseed Oil treatment, consistent with it left the factory. Quite straight forward. However, I am new to S&W but I do own a Nickel no3 with an original wood stock and want to understand how to maintain the wood so it survives for the next generation. Ideally, I would treat it the same method it left the factory.

I also have an original leather holster for the stock, recommendations on treating the leather would also be appreciated!
