Had the day off today so I stopped in at one of our local pawn shops that I trade with from time to time. I am looking over some of the handguns in the case when Big Bill the owner comes over, he says "I just traded for a sweet little Ruger 345,you know anybody wanting a .45? Well he knew what I had been looking for, not exactly a Ruger but a .45, to make a long story short, $300 out the door and I now own another darn toy! First Ruger I have owned.

I have the same pistol and it is one of my fav's at the range, very accurate with no problems.

I have the P345 and the SR9c and both are fine pistols. That's a good price for a LNIB pistol...I have to stay out of such places. Its part of my treatment plan...As the old saying goes, "keep sitting around the barber shop and eventually you'll wind up getting a haircut." I like the fact that Rugers are made in the USA and are usually excellent values for the money.

Purchased a RUGER!! Well might as well purchase a GLOCK next and be completely banned. (LOL)

LOL, I know, I almost didn't admit to buying a Ruger, but I have already let it slip that my youngest son owns 2 glocks! Oh the shame of it all, I told him, " why couldn't you just play piano in house of ill repute like your older brother!" LOL:o

I know the feeling well. Over the years I have spent a small fortune in pawn shops just buying guns. There are seven I go to about every two weeks to see what they have gotten in that I might want.

I am a BIG fan of the Ruger single action revolvers. Last April I had the chance to shoot the SR9. I was very pleasantly suprized with the action and how it felt. I have not been a fan of the P series self loading Rugers as they felt very bulky in my hand.

Congratulations on a very nice self loading pistol. The price is very good from my perspective.

That Ruger 345 is a great gun and highly spoken of by one of our more famous forum members, Mas Ayoob. You will enjoy that gun. I own several Ruger firearms and make no apologies to no one for owning them. In my opinion Ruger is building as good a gun as any other large American maker. Better in most cases.

Those P345s are nice pistols. In fact, if I couldn't afford a S&W, I'd probably get one. ;)

Seriously, I looked at one a few years ago, but decided I didn't want to support another caliber.

Until last year of course when I bought a very nice 457.

Since I have the ammo, maybe I should revisit that decision.

So........hows it shoot?????

Pete

Haven't had a chance to shoot it yet, brought it home, took it apart, gave it a good cleaning then the wife came home...had some splaining to do lucy! Will give it a try on next day off though.

I like the Ruger P series. They fit my hand well, and if they ever quit on ya, you could use it as a hammer. I've passed on many P345s in the $450 range, but I would have scooped one up at $300 in a heartbeat.
