It's not just you. I have a buddy that wanted a K-22. Did not care if it was a model 17 or 18, just needed to find him a revolver. There were a number of them locally for sale in the 700 to 800 dollar range but I told him wait until after the weekend as I was going to a gun show and would see what I could find.
As I was headed for the door a seller stopped me and asked if I really wanted this 17-3 he had. I told him yes but it was for a buddy and it was a little out side of his price range. After a little talking we ended at $550. I was shocked that he would drop his price that low. I told him I would take it so then out comes the box, tools and all the paper work. I would guess the revolver would rate at 95% slight turn ring and one scratch on barrel.
You know the rest of the story. He couldn't wait. He found a rough one on a local board, paid 750 for it and now I have a very nice present for my grandson for Christmas.

Well the 29-2 showed a couple weeks ago.
Been packin it since deer season opened.
Bore, lock-up as new.
Pealed off the Targets and slapped on a pair of
Grashorn's stags. Old rig it came with is very good.
Came out OK...here is a quick pic.

Only thing finer is if it was in 45 Colt,,
