I have seen them but not handled one, does anyone here own one and shot it? Is it any good or fun to shoot?

The Mare's Leg is actually a pistol, not a rifle, and is sold/registered as such. Rossi makes the ML, as does Henry, and it is fun to shoot once you get a feel for it. Mostly it's shot from the hip due to the lever, and recoil can be crisp with the larger calibers. But if you're in a Steve McQueen mood, why not?

My LGS has both a 357 and 44mag in the showcase. Every time I see them it brings back pleasant memories. "Wanted Dead or Alive" was one of my favorite TV shows. I used to wish my parents had named me "Josh".

I have the Ranch Hand in .44 Mag. It's a bit of a hand full to shoot, muzzle blast is impressive and aiming is hard due to holding a heavy rifle/pistol at arms length. It's fun to crank rounds off while holding the gun at waist level,it's a fun toy not a serious shooter..

I was just thinking about buying a fun gun and this looks lit it may fill the bill. I would get the 357 just because I have a model 92 in that caliber as well as a few cowboy guns.

I have the .357 model, but have not had a chance to shoot it yet. I can't wait though, I know it is going to be fun. I called the local indoor range (handgun only) to see if I could take it there to shoot. They asked me what caliber I had. I told them it was a 357 and they said OK. So, I figure that if it was either a 44 or 45LC, they might have said no

A Rossi .357 Ranch Hand with a standard-length stock would be a heck of a house gun, but the red tape involved in owning one would be a major pain.

I picked up a .22lr version that Henry makes - it's hard to do, but due to no recoil, you can actually shoulder it, get a sight picture and good hits. Those features, combined with its diminutive size, make for one hell of a backpack/boat/atv gun to bring along for small game/plinking. Plus it's just fun.
