I was talking to a Mass State Trooper the other day and he was telling me about the S&W M&P 15 patrol rifles they just started carrying. He was saying that the department has been having problems with the SIG P226 DAK pistols that they were issued a few years ago. Apparently SIG has not been helpful in rectifying the problems. So the department has been testing the S&W M&P 45. Supposedly the decision has been made to convert to the 45!! Sweet!!!

NYPD dumped Sig for several years because they didnt want to work with the Department In 1995 I would have gone for the Sig, but there coating was horrible, bad rusting problems so I went with a S&W 5946, I am damn glad i went with S&W. I never even considered the glock

Sounds like a very good choice to me. Hard to go wrong with a S&W.

SIG of Exeter. They continue on a mission to dig their own grave. Being a long time SIG Sauer fanatic, the Smith M&P impresses the hell out of me in every category. Bill

lowell Ma just dumped roughly 2.5 year old Sig P-229DAK 40's beacuse of relibility issues. Lowell went with M&P 40's. Lowell is an almost 200 person Dept.

Well I'm only one person but I just went with a M&P 40 Pro. The last 2 pistols I bought were Glocks. I like the glocks but I couldn't put down the M&P once I picked it up...
