Sgt. Beales' family that is. If our forum leader allows it, I would like to propose a raffle, with proceeds sent to the Beale family in thanks for Sgt. Beales service and sacrifice. I will donate a nice S&W topbreak, maybe some others will kick in some cool items, and we can have a raffle to help out the family of a hero. Lets have some input on this, if we can make it work, lets do it.

It sounds like a great sentiment and worthy cause. However, I'm not sure if internet, interstate raffles are legal.

It might be better to send his family a direct donation.

Just a "working" thought here, I imagine it needs to be heavily tweeked. How about we combine Rikkn and Barb's replies and have an "Honesty Raffle". Works like this, some items are put up as prizes, to enter one must send a check to the family for a pre-determined amount, post a reply on the forum, then a winner(s) is picked from the post. Now you see the "honesty" part of the "raffle". I do think a top break is probably too rich of a prize for this kind of deal tho...

Just a quick thought before I've had any coffee this early morning....

I will be back in Greenville late tonight. Tomorrow I will post pics of a nice top-break I will donate. Just thinking here, but it could be a kind of " paid Karma ", where everyone paypals a donation, then the Karminator selects a winner. Lee can do the honors, and a check with a note from our forum can be sent to the family. Any other ideas ?
