New here, was wondering if anyone could help me out? I'm looking to buy a digital outside micrometer to measure width of different triggers, (my eyes aren't what they use to be, reading micrometers) Any suggestions? I don't want to spend arm & leg, hopefully under $50?
Thanks
If I should be in some specific forum to ask or discuss, please let me know🤷‍♂️

If you don't need dead nuts accuracy then harbor Freight has what you want. If you need better accuracy you're gonna spend more than $50. I.E. if you're just trying to tell which trigger is which than go with the Harbor Freight. If you're trying to take .00125 off of the trigger, spend the money and get a Starret.

Edit: Also, with the Harbor Freight, take out the battery when you're not using it. I tend to use mine once every few months and I need to change the battery each time if I leave it in.

Welcome to the forum.

Digital vernier calipers are much cheaper but very accurate and you'll find far more uses for it than a micrometer in the future.

It's obviously harder to measure the trigger width while still in the trigger guard, but can be done.

Mount the gun upside down in a padded vise.Take two small pieces of flat metal and place one on each side of the trigger to extend the trigger width beyond the trigger guard. Take your measurement with calipers, then subtract the thickness of the two pieces of metal from your measurement to get just the trigger width.

Hope that helps,
