gents please excuse my ignorance im looking for the medium sized 3rd gen ss 45 auto i know the 4506 is the full size im looking for the one with the hammer not the dao what model is it any reviews on the gun i have big hands and lastly any pix thanks,,,,,,,

The 4566 has the same frame and mags as the 4506 but the slide and the barrel are shorter, making it a "mid size" of sorts. The 4516 sports the same short slide and barrel of the 4566 but also has a shorter frame and mags which makes it the "compact" version of the product line.

I believe the 4516 has a 3-3/4" barrel, while the 4566 has a 4-1/4" barrel, Bullitholz.
 
here's a photo that shows the different "size" configs of the all steel Third Generation 45 autos. These three are DAO models, but they are the same as their TDA brothers in size.
From left, the association TDA model would be M4506, M4566, M4516.

If you want a compact size (like the M4516) but want lighter weight (the above are all steel), then the Value Series M457 is a good choice. You could also go with a Shorty 45 (M4513) or one of the TSW models as well.
