Hello. First time using this forum. I am looking for information on how to locate a handgun. All I have is that it is a S&W .38 caliber and a serial number. No other info. Can anyone advise how I can find out the model number or anything else about this gun. It belonged to a friend of mine's father. It was his service weapon a long time ago and would like to try to track it down and acquire it for his son who is now also in law enforcement. Thanks for any assistance.
