Mfg. date

I am sort of new here and can't seem to find any info on date of
mfg by the serial no. I recently purchased a 3914 and from what I can find is, seems like they are no longer in production.

Any point in the right direction is appreciated. Hope this is in the right place.

They were discontinued in 1996, you most likely have one of the last year models based on the serial number, you can call Smith & Wesson and they can tell you when it was originally shipped......
