Miami Vice / Old School Cool

One of my partners (female) is nuts over miami vice. She grew up in the late 80's watching the show. She ask me to bring my "old gun and vice rig" with me to work. She wanted to "touch what Don Johnson used to wear",had to laugh. Thought I would post a picture before i put it back in storage.

He started with a Bren Ten but I think he later switched to a Smith 45.

Anybody remember what crockett carried in the pilot for the tv series? Hint, It was blue and expensive at the time.

IIRC it was a Model 1006 in 10mm....the Bren Ten was the first, but the 1006 was in the later episodes.

he switched to a smith and wesson 45 but the bren ten was originally blue and had to be coated silver in order to be picked up in night time shots all according to Michael Mann. Those original silver bren tens are very valuable these days and only two exist in private collections.

They are showing reruns of the show on the cable channel CENTRIC weekday mornings,think its 8am -10, 2 episodes at a time.

Growing up watching Miami Vice was the reason I bought my first 4506 before I knew any better.

Then after I knew better I realized what a great pistol it is anyway, Vice gun or not.

I still want a Bren though....

Being a former 38 year ffl/sot, i made it my Quest to get just about every gun they used on Vice from M-60's to Mp-5's. to Ithaca Stakeout 20 gauge.and the Detonics.and 4506's.. however the 645 was my favorite.from the first time it was on the cover of guns and ammo. till Vice.

Last year I read an account of where, in a Florida bar/restaurant, Don Johnson was trying to get a woman (whom he did not know) to touch his rig and was almost beat to a pulp by her husband.
