Did Crockett ever use the 4506 in the tv series?
I know he used the 645, but someone at work asked me and I just dont remember.

If he did, was it one the hooked trigger guard or round?

God, Im getting old, cant remember anything LOL

What looked like a 4506 was actually a 645 transition model.

I know the collector who owns the gun along with one of the blank firing Bren Tens and one of the Galco ******* rigs. Don Johnson currently owns the 2nd Bren Ten blank firer and it was on display in the 'Vegas Planet Hollywood for some time, mis-labeled as a Detonics Combat Master.

The Miami Classic holster did not exist at the time.

Is there a good picture of this 645 transition modelon the internet? I like to see what it looked like.

Thanks

Hey 10mm Sonny.

You're right. That's what Bren-Ten.com says. If you look further at that site, you'll see that I've written a couple of articles for that site plus I'm a moderator at the Bren-Ten.com Forum. I guess that I'll have to have Nordic revise that page the next time he updates the site. Believe me, I have photo's of both guns and the holster.

KELS:

There's a 645 transition model on AuctionArms right now if you want to see one. I would have sent you a jpg but you have no e-mail address in your profile.

The movie version featured SVI Tikkis. Mann himself chose the gun and even the font for the lettering on the slide.

I just bought a transitional 645 marked 4506 that is like new with the original box that is labeled 6450 as the model designation. The pistol has what I think may be a factory installed Millett adjustable rear sight and front sight combo. I think it is factory as the box has the pistol marked as "special" and I think there was a very short time when the S&W winged adjustable sight was unavailable. If you wanted an early production 3rd generation .45 with adjustable sights this is what you would get. I might be wrong about the details but the box is labeled as special and the sights do not have the usual add on appearance that most others might have.

The episode that the I believe that a S&W 669 may have been first used, is the 4th season episode Love at First Sight. I suppose the Detonics was lost in the 3rd season episode (Viking Bikers' from Hell) when it went overboard with Sonny.

Back-up

During the 5th season episode "Bad Timing" while Crockett is on vacation his only arm is his back-up a S&W 6906 9mm.

Here are some photos of my transitional pistol...

The grips are not the originals, the grips on the pistol in the photos are the "FBI" grips for a 1076

I agree his back up in Asian Cut,Bad Timing and Free Fall have to be the 6906 I was thinking maybe an early 4516 for the 45 back up to continue but it didnt start tell what 90 or 91 and the show was off by then.
Thanks again and God Bless

What is this show "Miami Vice" and who is this Juan Johnson fellow?

:)

Ha! If I keep saying that maybe people will think I'm a lot younger than I really am!

I was living in Miami when this show was running (Coconut Grove, Ft. Lauderdale and then finally Pembroke Pines).

It always made for interesting discussions with my friends and family back home in VA and WV.

I'm not sure if the show had an influence on me or not, but the first new pistol I bought, in Atlanta around 1990/91, was a new S&W 5906. I knew as soon as I saw it and then held it that it was the one and told the store manager I didn't need to check out any more.

Cased Bren Ten

I know this is a Smith&Wesson forum, but I couldn't resist. Once in a great while I step out of the box. Not every gun I own is a Smith&Wesson.

That Bren is stunning. I still remember the add in G&A and have wanted one ever since.

And I do wish a good company would pick up the project. Somebody that could actually put out a pistol.

Makes me want to break out my Miami Vice DVD box set in the faux alligator skin box. Its one of my favorite shows.
