I don't have them on a double action yet but I have them on my Freedom Arms in 44 mag and they work just fine. If you sweat a lot they do get just a little bit slippery.

i have some of his aged ivory micarta. that stuff is tougher than woodpecker lips. you ain't gonna hurt them.

Micarta is suitable for anything that will take a beating. I think canvas micarta would be a good choice because of the added texture. I have been looking, but have not been able to find a maker.

N QUEST, i have a couple of knives i had made back in the mid 80s that have what the maker called linen micarta. nice textured look to them. don't know if it's still made, but you might try a knife maker's supply web site. lee

Thanks Lee, thats an idea, I may craft a pair myself. The linen micarta is still made, it is a finer texture then canvas. Paper micarta is finer still, very smooth and takes a polish. All of them very good material. Joe.

I would dearly love to see someone bring out targets in canvas or linen micarta. If it's good enough for the 1911 crowd, it should work for us.
