I HAVE BEEN LOOKING AT A 4" MODEL 66 IN USED BUT GOOD CONDITION AS A SHOOTER. WHAT IS THE GENERAL CONCENSUS ABOUT THE MODEL 66 AND WHAT WOULD BE A FAIR PRICE? hE IS ASKING $525.

These days, locally, nice 66 shooters are bringing $450 to $475......IF you can find one!!

I'd try to bring him down a little bit.

Superb revolvers, the pre lock 66's. Good luck!

CS.............$525 is a collectable number. You say it is just a shooter, so if not new in box...........go $350 to $400 depending on condition.

Good gun with a high price, unless you are in California. That is the going rate in the golden state.

400.00 in my neighborhood for a shooter unless it is a 2 1/2 barrel

I have not seen any Model 66 for sale here, let alone with a price under $550

To give you an idea, (I'm in California by the way) I just paid $400 for a 66-2 6" no box.

Paid $350 66-4 4 inch, with 80 rounds and a Uncle Mikes Sidekick holster. Has new wood now.
