Lately I have seen a lot of jokes and less than nice comments about Midway USA. Though it has been a while since I have ordered from them, for a long time they served me well. Did something change?

I see. Are there any other good places out there then? I like Brownells but they seem to be a bit on the expensive side at times.
I think prices went up when Larry switched from prairie dogs in Wyoming to African big game safaris. I bought a lot of stuff between 1980 to 1992 but then prices went up a lot (from wholesale to 3% less than list + shipping).

Larry (Midway) has definitely gotten too big for his britches over the last year or two and IMHO his Company has continued to do well over that time period NOT because of the great customer service, great prices or filling back orders, BUT because they are one of the few large supply companies left in these times of panic and hysteria. My prediction is that as soon as all this hysteria get back to normal, Larry will either sell the Company or be forced to revert back to a better Businessman. When I see him give his half fake dumb smile on TV I want to give him a piece of my mind and ask him "how many pairs of boots he really needs"!
There are still a few Companies in the gun business that have kept their values, kept their back order promises, and have continued to treat their customers with respect.

walk into a gander mountain and will never do it again get great service from all the other places i guess ts who u get to deal with
Over the last few years I've bought a fair amount of stuff from Midway. Compared to other suppliers, the prices were good or better. Sometimes final costs w/ shipping were higher. I ordered depending on what I wanted to buy and how quickly I needed it, etc. Recently I bought four shellplates for my LnL AP. They were a little over $22/ea., a very good price compared to other sources. I delayed ordering the LnL wrench. When I next looked, the price on that item had higher. If I really want it, there are other sources.
I have recently bought a case of SP primers from Midway. The birthday discount made a significant difference in the final costs. Because I enjoy shooting my 03 and 03-A3 rifles, I am always on the lookout for affordable .30 bullets. Midway recently ran a sale of "blemished" bullets. I bought 500. The next day, my wife ordered another 500 for me to use. The orders shipped quickly and arrived on Tuesday and Wednesday. The quality of the bullets was excellent. I cannot see how they are blemished at all. I paid for these bullets the price I commonly pay for pulled bullets.

I do a bunch of business with Mid South now days.
MidwayUSA is so large that their advantage is that they have the item
that you may be looking for onhand.
Midway's shipping policies and back-order shipping policies upset many.

I am like most others on the forum, and shop at several different vendors. However, the times I buy from Midway USA, I have not been disappointed.

I have used midway, Midsouth and Graf on a number of occasions. Leaning more to Graf lately because they have stock where other do not. I like Midsouth because they are cheaper than Midway when figuring the bottom line. Graf runs a close second.

I have had a few issues with Midway in the past but I have come to realize a few things, my expectations at times do not mesh with reality and never place an back order, if an item is not available at the time of order, I don't order it. Midway as well as other outfits have no control over their vendors and wanting my item to become available is totally up to the supply vendor not Midway, they cannot ship what they do not have. As for prices, speculation about the owners personal lives and its possible impact on prices is not relevant, what is relevant is my opinion of the price and am I willing to pay it or find it elsewhere. This applies to all vendors and not just Midway. Business is business whether I like it or not. Thank goodness we all have other choices to make!

I don't have a problem with Midway but then again I don't place 6+ month backorders and cry about it on the internet when something goes wrong.
