A buddy sent this to me.

Can anybody confirm that S&W is giving active & retired military a 40% discount?

That's a really good deal. But even before this deal, and I assume after this deal is discontinued, Active and Retired Military already qualify to purchase S&W products at a LE Discount. It's not 40% off in most cases (more like ~20-25%), but it's still a pretty decent price break. And in some cases you get extra bonuses in the LE packages, like standard night sights and 3 mags.

Who qualifies for the S&W LE Discount?

Those who qualify include:

Active Military personnel - all branches
Retired Military personnel - all branches
National Guard personnel - all branches
Military Reserve personnel - all branches
Fire Fighters - including volunteers
Paramedics and EMTs

TSA Employees
Commercial Pilots
Federal Flight Deck Officers

Court Judges
District and Deputy District Attorneys

All sworn Law Enforcement Officers - city, county, state, and federal
All retired Law Enforcement Officers - city, county, state, and federal
All Corrections Officers
State Licensed Security Companies

They are also giving the discount to personnel who have been "Honorably" discharged from the Military (as opposed to retiring). I was told that I only needed to send in a copy of my DD214.

Thanks for posting this. Any idea when the 40% offer expires? Offer is limited to 1 item per customer. What are you folks choosing to buy?

Appears the 40% comes off the MSRP. The order is mailed direct to S&W Military Programs. You have to provide them your transfer FFL info.

Also, thanks RogueJSK. Didn't know that S&W already gave the LE Discount to Military like Glock does.

confirming exp date

Just received an email from S&W and it confirms Hofstet. The offer expires the end of the year. I guess our service to the country has an expiration date.

I'm currently in the reserves, how exactly do I go about getting the discount? Do I have to order from Smith and Wesson directly, or can i go to a dealer to get it?

military order

You have to order from S&W direct. They can send you a form. Go to the website and email the person in charge of military orders. They need a copy of your ID card with the last 4 numbers visible. Don't wait, again the offer expires the end of the year.
