Has anyone seen those commercals where the people talk about getting their inherited insurance coverage handed down though the generations?

Is anyone here using their car insurance? Is this a reliable firm?

I forgot to write down their name. But one person says that he got his in 1943, another over Vietnam in 1967, and someone else got hers during the Iraq war.

it is USAA. back in the day it was only for officers and somewhere along the line senior NCOs, then opened up to all military i think. my last ex-wife's father was an officer in WWII and later so she had it when we got married and i was just a SSgt then. later she was commissioned also and we carried it for many years. only time i can recall we used it was in germany when a little french car hit my ford pick up. car went all over the street and the police had a hard time seeing where it struck the corner of my bumper(one of those dealer installed bumpers with their name on it). good insurance company. lee

I've been with USAA since '99. I have a hard time saying this about an insurance company, but they have been great.

Chubbs

I've had USAA for a long time, it automaticl gave my kids member numbers and they all use them too.

Great outfit. I also do my banking at USAA.

I've had USAA off and on since I was in the Corps, great company and easy to work with.

I've used USAA for all my insurance starting in 69' when I graduated from OCS. My kids started when they got their drivers license(s). They have a tiered system. What I get is not the same rates as the kids. Additionally, as a part owner, I receive a share of the profit each year. The kids don't. Service has always been outstanding.

I switched from Liberty Mutual to USAA and saved $350+ for one year on my single car and rentor's insurance. That alone is recommendation enough.

USAA

I've been with USAA many moons. Hard to beat'em for insurance rates, banking, etc.

Its easy to talk to a real person on the phone and USAA's website is as easy to navigate as a walk in the park.

It's just about a no-brainer to go with them.

Like someone else, I've had USAA since 1970. They may not be the dead cheapest around, but if you have any sort of a problem and actually "need" insurance, they are hard to beat.

Yes, it is indeed USAA. Are they open to any and all vets now? Why the public TV ads?

I served in the USAF in the 1960's. I guess I'll call them and see what they say. My State Farm agent has been good, but I need to see if I can get a lower rate.

I started off with rnterd insurance from them, them moved to both home owners and car insurance. My son has his insurance with them. BTW, my grandfather had insurance with them also.

I echo all the good comments about USAA. I have been a regular customer since 1969. While overseas in 1973 our office was torched and I lost several personal items. The most critical was my brand new Colt Series 70 Gov't in .38 Super. I wrote them a letter asking for claim forms and I listed the items I had lost with estimated values. They sent a check for the total amount by return mail. That is what I call service, and the same service and attitude continue to the present. Great company. My Daughter and S-i-L carry it based on the fact she was a military dependent. My Son has earned his in his own right due to his continuing Army career. Even my ex-wife has it based on my service time. Check them out. Keep shootin'

I was a non-com, but before they opened up membership I married into eligibilty, due to my wife's status as an officer's dependent. Great company, great rates. Anytime I have another company pitch for my business, as soon as I tell them I have USAA, they simply say, "We can't beat them on price," and thank me for my time.

I've been with USAA for almost 30 years now. (My father and father-in-law) were veterans. I've been delighted with their service over the years.
