I had the good fortune a few years ago to spend the day with Major Culver at Camp Perry. The CMP had set up a "museum" of Camp Perry memorabilia and firearms and the Major was minding the store.
I introduced myself as Gutpile Charlie and was entertained most of the day with neat stories from his past. We had lunch together and as we walked up and down Commercial Row, he would introduce me as Gutpile Charlie and it was quite a shock to be recognized, so far from home, by other internet gunny guys.
Culver is really quite a guy, but I never met his wife Gloria, "The Swede."
My thoughts and prayers are with them. They have provided a very useful and interesting service to the firearms community. I for one am very thankful and appreciative.
