Mix & Match to make a Franken410/6906??

Before I start futzing with slides and frames I thought I'd ask if a 410 slide (and mags) will fit on a 6906 frame.
I'd like a slightly smaller than 410 pistol for concealed carry (my fallback is a Shield in .40) and was wondering if that mix and match works.
All of my Smith 40's are full size (4046Brinks, 410, and 4006CHP) but I have a couple of "smaller" double stack 9s -- a 6906 and a 6946.
I know there ain't that much difference between good self-defense 9s and 40 and I have a Chiefs Special in 45 for a bigger bang, but a fella offered me a Shield at a good price and I got to thinking about a 40 for carry. Then I got to thinking about mix and match with what I have in the safe.
Will it work?

Redcoat, I've seen your question languishing around this Forum for the last couple of days and I'm surprised no one (including yourself ) has answered.

Had you tried, you would have discovered that the dust cover area on your 410 slide (and ALL 40 double stack slides) is too wide to fit within the frame rails on a 9mm frame.

It is a no-go.

Just for information purposes, a 9mm slide assy. can be made to work on the 40 frame but, IMHO, it's one of those "the juice ain't worth the squeeze" propositions of which many speak.
