Not yet, but soon!

It took 28 years to get Mrs. Chad to enjoy spicy food, but I'd say she's arrived! I made some hot pepper sauce a few weeks ago and she loved it.

She started working on a batch of peppers today. I'm so proud! Apparently, she found a recipe on the internet and decided to try her hand. Jalapeños, serranos, habaneros, poblanos and a few small sweet peppers. She's going to marinate them in a vinegar/salt brine and pack them in olive oil.

I can smell the peppers from the next room! I'm looking forward to the finished product, but I suspect it's going to light us up pretty good!

Anyone else like playing with fire?!

I enjoy numerous hot sauces, but have not tried making my own.
We grow multiple types of hot peppers and make some mean salsas, but no hot sauce. Enjoy!

Nice looking bowl of peppers. I've found that if one gets rid of the seeds and the white stuff, that milds down the peppers quite a bit and one can actually enjoy the taste. Still get the heat but not overpowering. Actually that looks like a bowl of red, green and yellow bell peppers :D Suprise suprise suprise

Looks delicious, now for the dumb question
There was a type of mild or sweet pepper typically used in the Italian community when I was a kid.It was green and sometimes sautéed in oil and used in a sandwich by itself or as a garnish with other foods. What was that??

I used to be a lot more tolerant of spice and would sometimes make stuff that no one else could eat comfortably. Those days are over.

No telling…

They could have been Cubanelle or sweet Italian peppers. Those are often fried.

Pepperoncini peppers are usually picked.

A few weeks ago at Thanksgiving, My second son brought 3 hot pepper sauces he had made for the occasion. The first was some Mexican pepper he grew in his garden in a vinegar vehicle: Medium and not bad. The second was the same pepper in turkey broth: Medium very good taste! The last was lots of Ghost peppers with one Habanero for flavor: Good taste, very, very hot! The son-in-law grew up with hot, his ears were sweating in about 20 seconds.

I abstained!

They say what doesn't kill you makes you stronger! :p

Why would someone remove the seeds from peppers? They are the point. You just have to be judicious ;)
A man needs to know his limitations!
I can deal with jalapeño seeds, but serrano and habanero peppers are in another league! I've tried ghost pepper sauce and it's way too hot for me. I can't imagine what it would be like taking a bite out of one!
