I'm debating between a Model 10 3* SB and a Model 12-2 2" RB. The Model 12 is new, the Mod 10 is new plus but has very faint drag lines on the cylinder. Both come in box with papers and accessories. The price is the same. Please support my choice. How would they compare as collector pieces?

thanks for your support,

Daniel

I would opt for the 3" M10 SB. Three inch barrels are super popular right now, and I have not seen too many three inch M10's with square butts. Plus, three inch barrels always seemed like the ideal compromise length between carry and bullet performance. This is really a personal decision so take my opinion for what it is worth.

Agree with the choice of the 3" model 10, however if they are both NIB you probably wouldn't make a bad choice with either one depending on the price. Let me also be the first to ask "why not buy both"? :)

If you are going to carry it, the Model 12. If you are going to shoot it, the Model 10.

I usually advise people to buy the one they like the most.

Definitely the three inch model 10! i have been looking for one for a year. I have a 4in.

You will have a lot more fun shooting the Model 10. That's the one I would buy. The Model 12 is a cool gun but functionally a bit of an anachronism. If you need to carry a gun, there are better ones. Neither gun is particularly collectible unless it happens to be associated with a notable person, but there were probably fewer 2" M12s made than 3" M10s.

I vote for the M12. I love my 2" Square butt 4 screw model, although I don't shoot it as much as I'd like.
If you are going to do a great deal of shooting I will agree the M10 would be better though.
