Just bought a model 37, kind of a family deal, square butt, few speckles on cylinder, scratch small mark on side plate, otherwise in excellent shape, I say 90percent, sn abj30xx. When was it made and what is appx worth, thanks, also has box.

Those three letter serial numbers drive us nuts. I can't find an ABJ anywhere in the 3rd or 4th edition of the S&W Catalog. I'm sure someone on the Forum knows a lot more than I and will be able to date your revolver. As for value, condition is everything and without actually seeing it, it's difficult to estimate it. I'd say it could be anywhere from $250 to $450 according to the 4th ed. and your description.

Read that abj sn is probably 1982 or 83. I shot it today, had some bounce but shot where it should, pleased.
