I recently began carrying my Model 3913 again and really had trouble getting a good grip; the plastic grips are very slick. Tonight I wrapped them in that skate-board "sand paper" with the sticky back on it. Now I have an extremely secure grip. I'm wondering however if this would have any effect on reliability or accuracy. Logically one would predict no problem but I have learned not to assume anything. Of course I'll put in some range time with it but just wondering... any ideas?

Good Luck!!

I use a piece of bicycle tire tube.

It's thin, so it doesn't add any bulk to the grip, it does add some grippiness, it doesn't interfere with anything, and it is easily installed and removed for cleaning, etc. One $3.50 tube from WalMart goes a long way.

The Hogue Rubber grips work very well
on my 3913 and 3914.

Thanks to all of you for the advice, offers, and pictures. I will check out the Hogue grips since I am located only 20 miles from their factory. Right now I've got the skate board "sandpaper" on and it seems pretty good.

Here's another set of Hogues to gawk at....I just put them on my 3913's......Zebulon

I've put Hogues on most of my Third Gens.

My thing is I sand the crap out of them to thin them and relieve them by my thumb.

I've used 100 grit wrapped around a wooden dowel as well as a belt sander. Go slow, don't get to aggressive and you can mould them to better fit you.

Are the Hogues' tacky or slick; hard or soft? Some of the plastic ones are too slick to get a good grip. I suspect that females don't grip as hard as males, generally speaking.
