Mod 53-1 converted to .357 question

Where was I impolite? I stated the absolute truth of the situation. I didn't call anyone names. I was merely being concise. Any offense taken wasn't intended.

BTW- I need to change my username. Apparently too many people can't understand it or handle it.

I say things that don't seem grumpy to me at the time I say them too. I hope you'll call my attention to it when you see it. I think we all do it unintentionally - I try to catch myself but I fail sometimes. I invite everyone help me out when you catch it.

Have to correct myself (although I have already been corrected and thanks). I was thinking N frame when I said the 520 was the only fixed sight 357. There was of course the 581 and 681 L frames. Yes, the 19-p as well but that was very limited, no?

Anyway, my goof.

Oh, and I think it very likely 581 was misread as 53-1. Given the full lug notation, this seems more and more probable. Those pesky model numbers can be hard to decipher at times.

That may be fun. Maybe you could change it to something cool like " CelticPig". That sounds cool.

Don't forget the Model 13 and Model 65 and the Model 60 .357 as well.

You are correct on the 13, 65 and Magnum 60...but we are sort of focusing on the 581 as a possible culprit here. Don't confuse me with too many facts.

It's been often reported that a picture is worth 10,000 words.
As that applies to this thread, a picture could be worth way more thsn that!

I am always curious about generally unknown or unheard of S&W revolvers. Thus, I cannot wait to see pictures of this revolver.

And, I am not trying to be condescending - I am just hopeful to see something interesting.

From the tidbits that I've gathered, full lug barrel, firing pin on hammer, factory looking, fixed sights, I'm going to vote with the Model 581 crowd until pix show up to suggest something different. This seems like the simplest therefore most likely answer to me. Just my 2¢ and worth almost as much as you paid for it.
