I bought a round butt Model 10-11 from Bud's not knowing exactly what I was getting and now I'm trying to put a date on it. The s/n is CCS96xx - I think the last two digits are 68 but that's from my memory. I don't care who knows the s/n - some do - I don't.

I asked this question in the 1961-1980 section thinking that that is where this gun falls but Jumbeaux informed me that it's between 1997 and 2004 as best he can tell. (It's also an internal firing pin so that means a more recent model as I understand it.) Any help from the experienced 1980 to present members? Thanks in advance.

The Model 10-11 was introduced in 1997. This change introduced the floating firing pin. I think the CCS series of serial numbers is from 1998.

Hope this helps.

jblackfish, I received my 10-8 from BUDS YESTERDAY. 1981 ship date. Have you shot yours yet? Bob
Yes Banana, I shot mine last Saturday after my IDPA match. It shot so nice I'm thinking of shooting it in some club matches (SSR) to see if I can improve my shooting skills overall. Mine is nice and tight and shoots right on the sights. I'm really pleased with it.

Now I ordered one too, an got a 10-10 last model before they changed everything on them as to the hammer an such. She was a little rough on the outside, the cylinder an barrel looked to have never seen a round down the barrel, the inside under the plate was just as clean. Now my question to all who got one of these, is did you take the grips off an find a number stamped inside your grips on both sides(Not the serial number) but like a rack or group number??

My 10-8 from Buds grips just have a big K cut into them on the inside. They are in very good condition, but look chincy. They're off! C.T 207's on it now. (laser grips) Shot mine for the 1st time today. Did pretty good on steel plates with my 1st batch of .38 reloads. If your guns have the V.P.A. stickers on them according to 1 of our members are indeed from Australia. Kind of neat mate. Bob

Oops, I stated the numbers that were under the grips ON the frame, not on the grips. I'll look tomorrow on the underside of the grips.

My grips DO have a number on the inside of both of them - 489 - but they're off of it too. I put Hogue rubber grips on it which give it a much better grip for shooting.
My gun also had a sticker on it but I didn't know what it was for and I didn't write down what was on the sticker before I peeled it off - I guess it was the VPA sticker and my gun is from Australia too. Whatever the case, I like it a lot.
