Is there any value in the 2 inch variant of the Model 10-5? I have someone that wants to sell me theirs for around $430.

Condition is good, I will try and get some pictures up

It's a nice 6 shot snubbie and the price seems right. It would be a shooter though (and suitable for concealed carry), but I'm not sure that's the sort of "value" you have in mind.

I have one just like it.(round butt) To me it's invaluable. My dad carried it as a detective lieutenant. That and a gold badge is really all I have of his. But in the real world it's probably worth $400.00.

If you check my albums you'll see 5 different 2" Model 10 snubbies, round butt and square butt. SBs conceal more easily but that's the biggest practical difference.

$400 to $450 would be a standard price. If I wanted another one I'd pay that and not think twice about it.

Personally, I have long thought that a K-frame Model 10, 6 shot snubbie was far and above the better choice than any 5 shot J-frame but I routinely carried J-frames, anyway. Years ago I carried K-frame snubs in my motor vehicles. Why I went to J-frames I am uncertain but I am moving back to K-frames for most concealed carry purposes.

You will be VERY happy with that Model 10-5 snubby!!!

At $500 I may have overpaid a little bit for this 2" Model 10-5, no regrets...

It is a nicely preserved example at a very good price in the current market, presuming the right side and grip frame appear the same as the left. Many examples of the era are heavily dinged/worn from carry, well used or both.

The nice thing about a 2 inch Model 10 is it is the size and weight makes it pleasant to shoot and plink with. It will still conceal well. I have a few.

A few years ago I hesitated and lost a LNIB model 10 priced at $400, and have been kicking myself ever since.

In that picture it looks like most of the bluing is gone from the cylinder. If that's true I would think less than the price quoted.
JMHO,
Greg

I'd pay that price right now for one. I carry a M19 in 2 1/2" that would be pretty much the same feel and handling. Its great for carry and I never feel under-gunned.
