Model 10-6 import

I recently aquired a very nice model 10-6 bearing import marks from IAC, Billerica MD. Serial # is 2D 652xx. I am curious as to where this gun might have been exported. Anyone have a clue?

I recently aquired a very nice model 10-6 bearing import marks from IAC, Billerica MD. Serial # is 2D 652xx. I am curious as to where this gun might have been exported. Anyone have a clue?

The serial should put the gun in late 1977, at the very end of the dash-6 run.

IAC is Interstate Arms Corporation, actually should be MA for Massachusetts, not MD. This was one of several enterprises associated with a guy named Martin Arnstein, who also ran the better-known Valley Gun importer in CA. The IAC Billerica stamping usually pops up on Chinese SKS rifles.

Without specific markings, your 10-6 could have come from several countries, but for that model and timeframe, Australia, France, or Canada would be prime suspects.
