Model 10-6 Markings, Police Dept?

Looking at a model 10-6 at a LGS. It is well used, price is $299. It has this lazer engraved mark on the Left side.
"HOSCHTON, GA" with "GOM" in the box. No other visible markings on Gun. Anyone Recognize or have any information?

A very small town in northern Georgia. They do have a police department, but "GOM" doesn't translate into anything I can think of.

It’s GDM not GOM. Quick google search, was curious myself. Nothing came up GOM. And then took a better look at the picture and realized it’s GDM.

Oh, Thanks 1Celticfozzie. My eyesight is so bad, I was unable to clearly see that. So I would assume that it was engraved when imported or before distributing it. Would be interesting to letter and see where it goes. May go take another look at it, for the price, $299...

As import markings go, that one looks pretty nice. So many look like they were applied by a half-functioning dot matrix printer in use since the '80s.

Believe they have to be marked asap when they come back in to the states. I also agree that it’s a pretty nice import mark.

Model 10’s are tanks. Parts a readily available and for the price of the gun, letter and rebuild. I would buy it, possibly. Have quite a few 4” k frames now. Curious about where it will letter to. Even if you buy and letter it and don’t want to rebuild/restore it. You could sell it and come out about even. Or just shoot the hell out of it.
