Folks,
Diamondback 68 states in: 10-5 Period of Production
"The 10-5 was made from 1962 until 1977 when the 10-7 came out. The 10-6 was a for heavy barrel 10s only."
Well, this is what I thought, too, but I was just at the local gun shop and inspected a 6" pencil barrel on a frame marked 10-6.
SCSW #3 states (at p. 174): "10-6 (1962): Trigger guard screw elliminated on heavy barrel model."
Is this a modified gun? Or, is it one of the many guns in which an assembler grabbed a frame and then reached into the barrel box, grabbed the closest barrel, which happened to be a pencil barrel, and put them together, resulting in another one of S&W's surprises?
At least one inquiring mind wants to know.
Thanks in advance.
