My Dad died a few years ago and I grabbed all his guns. He had a Model 10-8 which he bought used. It was an old Police gun that they sold off when they moved to 9mm. It has some holster wear however it looks like it was not shot a lot. I never paid much attention to it when he got it and I never shot it. He kept it in the night stand beside the bed for years. I threw it in my safe after he passed away and there it has sat for almost 3 years.
I have been taking my girls, 9 and 11, to the range and they have been shooting 22s. A Ruger SR22 and Ruger Mark II. The oldest Haley wanted to shoot a "big gun". I dug the Model 10-8 out of the safe along with some wad cutter target loads and it was off to the range.
I was really surprised how nice the 10-8 shot. The action and trigger were nice and the accuracy was good. The girls loved shooting it and with target loads they had no problems with recoil and control. At 10 yards they were keeping all the shots on the paper and most in the black.
I was actually considering selling it but now I have changed my mind. Never been a big wheel gun person but the 10-8 is a nice gun. It also looks nice sitting next to my model 28-3.
