A 10 is a great gun. A 15 is even better. Buy what you can find locally at a fair price. Won't go wrong either way.

The most accurate and smoothest S&W I own is a 15-4. Awesome gun! However, I do have an itch for a heavy barrel model 10. Never cared too much for the looks of the pencil barrel 10's, but after handling a few, I can see its one I'll eventually own. They feel light and quick, and it seems a little easier/faster to pick up the front sight. Liking them more and more. Lol

One thing I like about the 15's, 10's, and 67's is that you can still find nice ones at reasonable prices. The prices haven't shot up like some of the K frame magnums. I find lots of people want the magnums, which are great guns as well, and tend to kind of overlook the 38 spl. That's fine by me, Lol. Of the magnums that I have/had, I mostly shot 38 spl anyway. I own 5 K-frame 38spl's, now. It seems that's all I shoot now days, and I'm having a blast doing it!

Then I'd get a Model 15. I have a Model 67 no dash, the stainless version of the Model 15, and two Model 10-8s heavy barrel. The larger sights on my M67 are give a better sight picture for punching paper. And police use had proven they are robust enough for daily carry.
However, for a packing/truck/sportsman's gun I prefer the lower, rounded, fixed sight M10. The fixed sight is just a bit slicker than the adjustable. I think of the M10 as having the revolver version of the 1911 low profile Novak sight. Both of my M10-8s shoot to point of aim with 158gr +P loads so that's what I load them with. Simple, reliable, and effective.

I have both, a Model 10-6 and a Model 15-2. I can shoot about the same size group at 30ft. with both, but I got to say I like the model 15 a little better. Can't go wrong either way.
