Model 10

I have a Model 10 has recently came back to me via a trade.
On each of the notches, the bolt locks into, opposite the bevel, there are small burrs. Very small but enough to feel.
Comparing this to another Model 10 I have I can see no difference.
Any suggestions on what the problem may be, or a solution?

All i can suggest is take the Model 10 to a gunsmith and the let them take a look at the problem.

It almost sounds as though the previous owner(s) were spinning the cylinder in a "Russian Roulette" manner and letting the pawl slam into the cylinder notch causing it to peen?

A lot of heavy rapid firing can cause the notch's to peen. That is also a good way to wear out a gun before it's time.

I suspected rapid fire(probably dry firing).
