I recently picked up a Model 1000 shotgun. The gun is in good shape except that the fore end is cracked.

Just wondering if I should just order a new fore end ($50 from Gun Parts Corp) or if anyone has had any luck gluing a cracked fore end?

If I do order a new fore end, I'm tempted to order a new stock as well ($65). If I can get a stock with a recoil pad I'll probably do it.

Years ago, a guy bought out a ton of these stocks. With no other interest in them, he was making them into lamps. Oy....

Glueing a forend

I have had good luck repairing semi-auto shotgun forends with a good grade of epoxy and fiberglass window screen. The screen gives a bit more strength like the fiberglass mat used in boats.
