The end of a 10+ year chase!

[-QUOTE=Bill In Texas;142104489]Congratulations! Must feel good to complete the hunt.[/QUOTE]

Bill that may be the end of the hunt for the model 66, but good lord I've still got a list. I think the next one I'm setting my sights on is the Model 16-4 in 32H&H Magnum!

I get it. A never ending search. But, you can enjoy it for a while!

I have only had this for a little less than a year. It had the original UM grips on it, I thought it would look nice with a lighter set of RB targets. For some reason those UM combat grips just feel awful in my hand. I’m not against rubber, K frame compacts on my 696 are a dream. I still shoot my 21/2” 66-1 better for some reason.
I had a 13 K-comp for a short while 10 years ago or so, and it is the only Smith revolver I ever got rid of because I didn’t care for it after I played with it for a while. Overly heavy, and needs a custom holster to carry.

Very nice find! Congrats and I'm impressed at your patience - 10 years!

I love 3" revolvers, to me it's the idea bbl length.

Jeep 1, that is really cool that your perseverance paid off. Especially since you obtained a very desirable model and at a bargain price! I had an incredible run of good luck while living in Washington state. I accumulated 3" model 66's, 1 -2, 2-3's, and 1 -4 all under market value, then and now. I also obtained a -5 with 2 3/4 barrel but foolishly, in a moment of greed I let it go for a $700 dollar profit. Here is a photo of my -4. My serial number prefix is BRR.

I also looked at your link to the 686 Golden Bear. In that thread you asked people to find a unique feature. I see something that wasn't discussed and something that I've never seen before on any S&W. The left side of the barrel is roll marked and the right side is laser etched.
