I agree 110% on the sights, carry guns are better with fixed sights. I really wish S&W would introduce a new Model 65. As for the underlug, I do like full protection of the ejector rod, so if S&W would simply take their current Model 66 Combat Magnum and mill in a sight in the frame and a shorter front sight to match the rear, I'd be a buyer.

I do understand your concern, however after 45 years of revolver carrying (most having unprotected ER's) I have never damaged one. If carrying a revolver for 12+ hours weight and bulk matter.

My 3" Model 13 is a forever gun for me. It would take some seriously catastrophic financial times for me to even consider parting with it. Mine wears walnut magnas and a bronze Tyler's Tgrip. Shown with my Model 36 in the same configuration.

Picked up my 3” 13-3 a couple years ago. Would love to find one in nickel.
