I found a pretty nice M14 6".

Will I be able to shoot +p .38 ammo in it?

Tried searching but no luck.

If it is actually stamped with a model number on the frame, then the factory says, yes you can.

As stated before, if it is marked +P then it is rated for it and the warranty should cover any defects resulting in damage. But… Is it worth the extra wear and tear for the mild uptick in velocity? I don't mean to sound preachy but if more people would buy a good .357 and shoot .38, .38 +P, and .357 magnums there wouldn't be so many worn out .38's out there. Most .38's don't get anywhere near the grade of steel or heat treatment needed for the added pressures involved in +P. Top it off with the fact that modern HP ammo opens at lower velocity and penetrates deeper than it did even ten years ago.

My new (bought it 1 yr. ago) M14 Classic is stamped on barrel for +P loads. I find that +P loads for that revolver are the most accurate by a long shot. Yes, it is worth it to me, I bought that gun for target shooting.

I look at lots of Smith & Wesson .38s just for fun. Hate that I can't buy 'em all. I just don't see that many worn out .38 revolvers out there. Sure, there are neglected revolvers by the baskets-full but neglect is different than wear from shooting. There are also lots of "Bubba gunsmithed" revolvers out there but abusive, sorry workmanship is different than wear from shooting. Lots of revolvers have had their cylinders repeatedly flipped shut or have been dropped but neither is an ammunition problem.

I don't see that many people who choose to afford quantities of +P for general shooting either.

I'm doing my best to wear out a plain ol' Model 10 over a lifetime. I've been working on it for many years now and can say that it is very hard to wear out a Smith & Wesson K-Frame .38 Special from shooting use if such use is balanced with care in cleaning and lubricating.

el jefe; your Model 14 will handle more +P ammunition than you'll enjoy purchasing or shooting.

I have worn out a hand by a lot of double action shooting on a PPC gun [Mod 14] but it was a lot of shooting.

You can shoot +P in it but what is the purpose? You want to hit the 10-ring a little faster than with regular ammo?
